Helping People Take the Initiative In Achieving Their Health Goals By Gentle and Targeted Exercise Programmes.

The programmes that have been developed have been based on the common problems that people face and have been designed to ensure that exercise becomes a fun, healthy, fulfilling, and relaxing part of their lives. I promise that anyone who commits to my programmes, will never go back to a sedentary lifestyle. This is achieved by showing that exercise can be gentle, but just as effective as other forms of physical activity.

However, due to many reasons, some people find the traditional approach to better fitness, too daunting, not appealing, not possible to physical or health constraints, in fact any number of reasons. It does not matter the reason why, my question is why not, and if you pose this question to yourself,  I promise I can help you.

My approach is to design sessions that specifically meet the needs of the individual. The sessions are varied using different techniques that:

  • Can help improved blood circulation and cardiovascular health.

  • Strengthen muscles and joints.

  • Help keep muscles flexible and reduce aches and pains (especially lower back and hips).

  • Can help reduce stress levels.

  • Helps increase aerobic capacity.

  • Helps reduce blood sugar and may help reduce systemic inflammation.

  • Helps in weight reduction.

  • A sustainable exercise solution

  • Contributes to improving joint and ligament articulation.

  • The gateway to a healthier future.

One benefit that is of so much importance, it can really help with depression,  my sessions help you create positivity, that will benefit your state of mind.

What exactly is the approach?

The approach is simple, train outdoors whenever possible, tailor the program to the needs of the individual, incrementally increase the physical challenge in a slow but deliberate manner and the sessions work on the principle, that the body is one holistic system and is exercised as such.  The disciplines used are a cocktail of different disciplines but principally: stretching, resistance, pilates, yoga, interval training, and many strength-building exercises, all built into one session.

What techniques are used?

The principle of all the programmes is movement, it can be walking, across between a walk and a jog (Woggling) faster running at intervals. However, during these movements we undertake various stretching and strength-building exercises, using a diverse number of methods, but all combined to ensure the whole body is challenged, in a gentle and enjoyable manner.

Testimonials

Jo in Nyon:
I had some health problems and Giles is helping me find my way back. The course we do is adjusted to my fitness level and he challenges me to do better each time. I highly recommend him as a trainer who is tuned in to women who want to stay in shape but need some extra help and encouragement to do so! I look forward to the sessions every week and they have really made a difference to my weight, shape, and confidence!

Shaun in Rolle

I have been training weekly with Giles for four months now. I was looking for someone to bring some structure, encouragement and motivation back to my (rather casual) exercise regime.

The first thing I noticed was immediate and clearly different from other past experiences – Giles asked what did I want to achieve? Where did I want to train? Did I prefer individual or group? In short, Giles wanted to follow my agenda, not push his upon me.

The method we arrived at was a programme of brisk walking, with varied exercises, movements, stretches along the way – and that combination plus great communication along the way makes for an enjoyable session that literally flies by. To add some resistance we vary between hand dumbbells, stretch bands, and weighted walking poles (innovative!). We also vary the terrain and landscape – all again adding to the enjoyability of the session. If I want to increase the intensity, decrease it, suggest a new route, in fact, make any changes at all, Giles listens and complies.

The overall result has been that I feel well stretched, no aches, certainly no strains (Giles is very conscious of ensuring the exercises stretch, not strain) and I compliment our sessions with more relaxed walks, or occasional cross-training, knowing the structured weekly session pulls it all together.

Giles is also an excellent hike guide as I recently experienced with a fabulous 14km loop in the Jura National Park – again fully tailored to the terrain and level of difficulty I specifically requested.

I thoroughly and wholeheartedly recommend Giles and his unique style.
